website forms

Hello!

I ran into a few forms on website forms that just don't work. Apparently they need Internet Explorer (I guess) or there is a javascript problem. Does anyone have any solutions to having these forms work?

Take a look at the forms at:
http://leumit.co.il/
http://www.issta.co.il/flights/default.aspx

(they are in hebrew, but you still can see the problem)

Thanks,
Murdock

That first link, leumit.co.il is loaded up with vbscript. I don't know if any browsers other that IE undersand vbscript, but I doubt it.

The second link, www.issta.co.il/flights/default.aspx has lots of XML with "xmlns:msxsl="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xslt". I think the rules of XML say you need to give a URL so namespace schemas can be downloaded as needed, but I didn't see any URL for msxsl.

Yeah. I'd say both of those are very unfriendly, IE-only links.

If you really must go to those sites from Linux, install IEs4Linux. I brought them up in IE6 (on Mandriva Linux) this way and they seemed to function normally (as far as I can tell without reading Hebrew).

Thanks!

I have some users of mine that need those sites and ies4linux looks great!

How does it rate with security?

A while back there was a NewsForge article in which the author described his deliberate attempt to get Wine infected with Viruses. He actually succeeded in getting infected with two of them, but:
Quote:
Out of the five Windows viruses I ran under Wine, not a single one was able to send email and propagate itself.
Still, security conscious people just do not trust IE.

Oh, yes, I remember that article now. Pretty funny.

I am wondering how IE vulnerabilities are affected in Linux under wine. With a buffer overflow, it would seem that nebulous code could be executed even in a Linux environment.
