Webcam not found

After installing Ubuntu 12.04.2 on my HP dv6 laptop, the webcam is not found by cheese, guvcview, or any other application. Here is the output for the lsusb command:

wolf@lpcplus-wolf:~$ lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 006 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 007 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 008 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 138a:0018 Validity Sensors, Inc.
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 046d:c52f Logitech, Inc. Wireless Mouse M305

That doesn't seem right, are you sure the webcam works? lsusb should still see a device at the bus location even if it can't recognize it.

Wait the Validity Sensors, Inc. might be the webcam. Is it an integrated laptop webcam?

The Validity sensors is the fingerprint scanner, not the webcam. & the webcam works fine under Windows.
