Dude - I'm not a moderator, but I believe that if you are interested in advertising other websites here on LQ, you should contact Jeremy. Please see the following for more details: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...&action=adinfo
Well, yes you were. Putting up an announcement on one website with the intention of attracting an audience for another website definitely is advertising. Consider it this way - suppose I started posting messages on your board "just telling everyone there that [a site that I ran] exists" Whether I had to pay for it or not, obviously the only reason I would do that would be to try to build up an audience for my site. If that's not advertising, then what is? -- J.W.
Spamming? hmm...well... it's a site with a specific intention to get companies to port to linux. It has no real intention to try to be a tech support site [by the look of it].
LQ is for tech support primarily then other stuff. Anyway - Us Linuxquestions Members are dedicated
ALL THE SAME - J.W. does have a real good point - you may get more credit by going the proper route [as it does have a a unique purpose].
