Hi all

My distro is Mandriva 2007.0, and I am trying to get xfig installed from xfig-3.2.5-0.4mdv2007.0.src.rpm but upon installation with software installer I get the message ¨some requested packages cannot be installed: xfig-3.2.5-0.4mdv2007.0.src (due to unsatisfied Xaw3d-devel)¨

I then tried to get Xaw3d-devel, but this inturn complains about unsatisfied flex.

Am I picking the wrong rpm. Does xfig not come with Mandriva --- if so how do I get it because <urpmi xfig> says there is no such package!

To install xfig, you need to use the GUI package manager which is accessible via the Mandriva Control Center (labelled as "Configure Your Computer" in the Mandriva menu). Search for xfig, select it for installation and when prompted, insert your installation media into the cd/dvd drive so that the installer can find the package. If you have a good internet connection, then go to easyurpmi and setup the various main, contrib, plf and updates software repositories, so that the Mandriva package manager can also fetch packages from the internet.
