Vsftpd ftp server doesn't see external ssd mounted directories

Using Fedora 27
So I mount my external USB drive, then mount --bind it to /var/ftp/movies and after that 'movies' directory disappears from ftp server, it's there, I can acces it through console/file explorer and bind works just fine, but if I open ftp it isn't there. I've tried to format my drive into ext3/4 but it doesn't changes anything, privilages seem to be alright as well. Binding other directories from internal drive works, ftp sees it. Any idea what is the problem?

probably the ftp server is configured to allow local files only (will not go thru links and mounts). But I'm not really familiar with it, so it is a guess only.
