VNC and Fedora

I am having an issue with vncserver on fedora core 4. I was using it for a while (sharing :0), did a yum update, rebooted and now I can't connect. I am connecting from an XP pro machine to FC4 and get a connection refused. The reason for that is b/c vncserver isn't starting properly.

So I went and looked at the log for display 0 and see this:

Code:
Xvnc: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.6' not found (required by Xvnc)
/usr/X11R6/bin/xsetroot: unable to open display 'vader:0'
xrdb: Connection refused
xrdb: Can't open display 'vader:0'
xmodmap: unable to open display 'vader:0'
/usr/X11R6/bin/xmbind:  Can't open display

(gnome-session:3647): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Let me know if I can give any more info.

Try looking at
/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6
and doing
Code:
ldd /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6
This will probably indicate that it is linked to a GLIBC library file that cannot be found.

What probably happened is that you upgraded your system to a new C compiler or library and now your system has some programs linked against the old files and can't find them anymore. I read about a command to fix this, but unfortunately I forgot it. Maybe you can check out the Fedora forum?
