when i install WinMe(booting from cd), it asks me for large disk support, i say yes, the virtual machine reboots, but it doesnt read from the cdrom drive with the cd anymore
Is the CD-ROM on Master channel. For example, 0,0 (Primary Master) or 1,0 (Secondary Master). Also did you go into the BIOS and change what devices it searches for booting into an OS. Make sure CD-ROM is first and the virtual hard drive last.

damn my windows xp pro sp1 cd wont boot its the best, anyways it wont boot outside of a virtual machine so i find that very funny, but thanks your advice is working with windows me......... so far
