VMware is better than VirtualBox in many ways.
1) Easier to setup networking.
2) Faster
3) Flexible machine setup
4) A virtual machine in VMware obeys CTL+ALT +F1...F12 in Linux Guest while VirtualBox does not.
5) More reliable
6) More stable
7) Can configure other virtual machines from a different system.
8) As of VMware Server it is Free.
I compared VMware Server 1 and VirtualBox 1.6.6. VMware Server does come with GUI.
