VLC On Gentoo Help

Hello,

I wasn't sure if this belonged on the Gentoo section, or the Software section so I apologize if it's in the wrong place.

Anyways, the problem I'm having is this: Gentoo is unable to stream YouTube from my computer to my home server computer which is where I'd like it to play in order to view it on my TV where I can comfortably sit on my couch.

Slackware is able to stream it fine, if I use the restricted version, but I don't know what I'm missing in the Gentoo version. I don't want to try and install all it with all USE flags just to get it right. I'd like to have only what I need in order to view the YouTube stream.

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. Early thanks to anybody who does.

Also, here is the output of VLC when started from the terminal:

Code:
VLC media player 1.1.12 The Luggage (revision exported)
Blocked: call to unsetenv("DBUS_ACTIVATION_ADDRESS")
Blocked: call to unsetenv("DBUS_ACTIVATION_BUS_TYPE")
[0x212c150] main libvlc: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.
Blocked: call to setlocale(6, "")
[0x21f4280] qt4 interface error: Unable to load extensions module
Unfortunately there's no error message of any sort in the terminal whenever I try to stream.

I guess the problem lies in USE flags, I didn't try that myself, but there is also a way to copy configure args from /usr/lib/libvlccore.so, with 'strings' util, so that you can either guess what your USE flags lack, or manually configure it: additional options to ./configure line can be added via EXTRA_ECONF env for emerge. Post both configure lines from library if unsure.
