Cool VLC media player in FC6

Hi All,

Please let me know how to install VLC media player in Fedora Core 6. I tried to find out in the net, but all went in vain. From google i got this link http://www.fr.videolan.org/vlc/download-fedora.html
But if i follow the instructions given for FC6 in that link, am gettting the following error.

# rpm -ivh http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-6.rpm

Retrieving http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-6.rpm
error: open of <!DOCTYPE failed: No such file or directory
error: open of HTML failed: No such file or directory
error: open of PUBLIC failed: No such file or directory

Please let me know any other rpm's for installing the VLC media player or let me know how to resolve this error.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,
Raghavendra H R

http://www.rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/fre....fc6.i386.html

You might try the above link; it looks valid, and offers an RPM for VLC for FC6 (I didn't actually try to download it, but it _looks_ valid).

Note though: FC6 is positively archaic, so you might have better success with a newer Fedora version, and a newer VLC version.

you could always try to download the source code in .tar.gz format and 'make' it instead of using RPM. be sure to read the README and INSTALL files.
