Video CD and split over 2 cd's

Hello. I have AVI videos I would like to split to 2 or more CD's and playback on my video player. From Windows I used VirtualDub with good result, but I cant find an easy way to do the same in Linux.I have tried use Avidemux and K3B but I just cant find an easy to understand explanation. What I hope to find is a very easy explanation(like 1. 2. 3.... of the things to do) on how to make VCD's from my AVI-files.
Thanks in advanmce.

DeVeDe is really easy to install, to use and understand. Get it from here: http://www.rastersoft.com/programas/devede.html All you need to do, is make sure you have the required files already on your system. If you need installation instructions, unpack the tarball, then go into the devede-3.01/docs/ folder and click on devede.html. I hope this helps.

if you mean avi files that you already have and just want to split, avisplit is quick and painless.

say your file.avi is 1000MB, and you want to split it into 2 500MB files. you would just do:

avisplit -s 500 -i file.avi

and it will produce file.avi.0000 and file.avi.0001, 500MB each. if you do -s 700 (typical CD size), the first one will be 700MB, and the second will be 300MB, etc.

Thank you. DeVeDe solved the problem rather painlessly.
