I'm not sure which Linux package provides "libunistring," but that's what you need to install next.

(This is a standard package for doing stuff involving "Unicode strings.")

The VBox package should have listed that as one of its "dependencies," so that it would be installed for you automatically, but apparently it wasn't ... and that should probably be reported to them as a bug.

I installed Vbox guest additions on other slack guest and works like a charm first time, so I believe I am missing something here. Whenever I upgraded libunistring 0.9.3 to 0.9.10 system broke ...

My first thought is to wonder whether you have the kernel headers for the current kernel installed.
