Using Vmware with linux mandrake 9.1 as a guest

I'm a newbie in linux so can you help me in some issues?

I'm getting some problems using vmware to interact linux with windows system cause i installed the vmware tools but:

1) i still can not make the mouse comming out of the linux windows unless i press ctrl+alt and i checked out the preferences in vmware and i guess its all right;

2) some programs doesn't run, for example, kword and other office programs;

3) I don't have internet. In vmware i've put in the guest configuration (NIC 1) as "NAT: Used to share the host's Ip address."

The only thing i manage to make it work is the chance to change the display resolution using the command :

Can anyone help me?
