I have already used photorec but its not helping much and I plan to do all the partition operations using TestDisk actually (great program). But please people, my question is not about recovering the files, its how to clone a specific part of the disk. Recovering files piecemeal as recovery soft does is out of the question.

Yeah nxja, I want to clone the partitions of the first disk so I can do all recovery operations (switching around the partition limits) on the clone for safety.
