Post Upgrade debian 6.


Hello All.

My debian have some problem,it is not booted can i use debian DVD for upgrade it? in my desktop i have some files that i need they and have some setting too,can i upgrade my debian without lost any information?

My advice:

1. Back up the files on your hard drive! One easy way to do this is: boot from any Linux Live CD, copy files to an external drive (or network storage etc)

2. Describe your Debian problem in detail (including error messages) and maybe we can help you rescue the system

Why do you think that upgrading a not working system will fix the issues? To which branch do you want to upgrade?

Yes and No! Normally there shouldn't be any loss of information while upgrading, but since upgrading a system is a critical task anything can happen (especially when doing system critical tasks on broken systems). So a backup is somewhat mandatory.
