Unlock dialog crashes computer (causing restart)

Good Evening,
When i attempt to unlock my computer (running Fedora Core 4)
using the ATI FGLRX drivers, once the unlock dialog appears
my computer seems to freeze (nothing works including the mouse cursor)
resulting in me having to restart.

Does anyone know how i can fix this problem?

It doesnt happen if i use the screensaver without the "Require password to stop"
option. But locking the laptop is a essential since i use it at school, and can not
attend the laptop all the time.

Look forward to your replies.

Regards,
Mehtaw.

I can't help you as to why it's locking up, but have you tried Control-Alt-F2 to get yourself to a new tty?

From there you can see what's hung up and kill the process.

"top", "ps aux", and "kill -9 PID#" (where PID# is the PID number) are your friends here.

Tried That

Yes, i have tried starting a new session, CTRL+ALT+(BACKSPACE x2), even the shut down button to get the computer to end all processes!
only way to get back is to force shutdown (4 second hold of button).

Hope someone can help
Regards,
Mehtaw.
