uninstall bin program


I want to update the program amsn. I installed amsn-0.90 from a file called amsn-0.90-installer.bin and i want to update to ams-0.91.1 from amsn-0.91.1-installer.bin and i don't know how to uninstall the bin file.

Hi.

Try 'locate amsn'

That should give you a list of all the locations with amsn in the file path.

All the amsn files are stored in a single folder (I believe it 's /opt/amsn-x.xx by default). Just remove that folder. The actual amsn program may be linked to a folder in your $PATH, so do:

rm `which amsn` (those are " ` " not " ' ") as root and that should remove the link, if there is one.

After that you can just run the new installer.

I have no locale command i suppose it's the same as 'find' so i will try with this command.
