unable to ssh


Hi all,

I am trying to ssh to my target(arm), The procedure i followed
to start sshd :

1) /usr/sbin/sshd

"Missing privilege separation directory: /var/run/sshd"

2) So i created mkdir -p /var/run/sshd

3) As a test i tried to login to to the localhost

But i m able to ssh to my RHEL machine from the same target(arm).

I am Unable to find out, what is the mistake i m doing, please help me out.

Which distro are you using ?

Why not start SSH daemon in the server using the distro specific start/stop script ?

It appears as though the SSH daemon waits for the password and then times out.

I am using cross-compiled linux for arm

I tried /etc/init.d/sshd start
It executing without any messages

U mean to say I have enter the password the press enter?
