Hi Rajiv,
did you finally solve the
problem?
If yes, please let us know the solution!
I have the same problem. I used to mount Windows 2003 shares successfully from my CentOS machine at work. For some reason it does not work anymore. Our Windows system administrator says he hasn't changed anything (except applying "normal" patches and adding another IP address to the Windows file server; what should not be relevant and access from Windows clients still works fine).
But when I try to mount with
Code:
mount -t cifs //W2K3-SRV1-EW/TC /mnt/tc -o user=<myuser>
I just get the same response:
Code:
mount error(92): Protocol not available
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)
What does "Protocol not available" mean?
mount.cifs is there and lsmod tells me that the "cifs" kernel module is also loaded.
Asking Google didn't help me. The most relevant hit was this post without solution. :-(
Any idea what is wrong here and what could have happened since it worked last time?
Thanks in advance,
