Unhappy unable to install redhat9

Hy,
I have a Gericom laptop. It has a SIS 630 graphical card or chip, a 1GHZ petium 3, 256MB ram and 20GB HD.
It runs Windows XP (5GB) and linux(13GB).
First I installed redhat8. All worked fine. now and then there was a problem, but nothing serius.
Now redhat9 is out, I want to install redhat9.

I downloaded the 3 cd's and I put in the first one.
All goes well until the graphical installation begins.
My screen turns white, and nothing else happens.

I tried to give the parameter "text", but it gives the same results

Anyone an idee?

thanx,

Very strange. I never had a problem like that. The closest I had was when my computer got frozen during Mandrake Linux 9.0 installation. It was because my DVD rom was unable to read the CD's properly (I use the cheapest CDr's I can find ). I fixed the problem putting an ordinary (also cheap) CD reader in my computer. I would recomend you:

- Test the CD's first in another computer
or
- There's a command (which I don't remember, but someone may help me here or even RedHat homepage might have in their Faq ) to test the integrity of Isos before you burn them. Have you done that?
- If you are like me don't use cheap media, somes CD readers has problems to read some CDR(W)s.
