uknown url type udp when using a udp tracker

I keep getting a message unkonwn url type udp from bittornent and bittornado when I try to use a upd tracker in Ubuntu. I know nothing is wrong with the torrent because many people have downloaded the file without any problems. I am going to try Azerus. Does anyone have any suggestions or know why it does not work?
