TV Card problem

I am a new user of Mandrake Linux 9.1. I have a TV card for which I no TV software is working (MoTV, Xawtv etc.). I found that the card is SAA7134, the problem might be Mandrake is not getting a proper tuner for this card. Furthermore, this card might be a Flyvideo card.

I need help on this card install, otherwise I will have to buy some other card.

Regards,
ar2003lin

Can you tell what exactly are the errors you are getting with xawtv?

Are the bttv and tuner modules loaded in memory before u launch xawtv??

If they are loaded what arguments and values are you using for the modules?

post more details..then we can see whether something can be done about your problem...

Regards,

amit

i have the same problem with my ManLi Tv tuner. I think the solution is to download drivers from www.bytesex.org (as you`ve mentioned, you need driver for SAA7134 not bttv).

And this way I would like to ask for some help, I can`t install those drivers . If I dwnload the patch for my kernel, and run it, it just writes a lot of errors and nothing happens. I`ve never patched enything before, so I duno where the problem is.

Thanks everybody, now I am getting picutures from xawtv, actually I just had to insert 2 lines in /etc/modules.conf.
options saa7134 card=9
alias /dev/v4l saa7134

But I am still not getting any sound, I am working on that,I hope I will be able to solve it also. I must thank Thymox because it is his advise which worked.

Thanks
