Question Turbolinux Question


Hi all,

I have a question about how I would make the /install directory which I downloaded of turbolinux 8 workstation split into 2cds?? I can't install it without passing this problem. If anyone knows, your help is most appreciated

Please elaborate - what is it you're trying to do? Does the computer not have a CD-ROM from which can install? It's been years since I did a PHT/TurboLinux install but as far as I can remember you could install from CD or boot from the floppies and install from FTP.

I do have a cd-rom but I'd like to make iso's from the install dir from the site cause there isen't any yet created of what i've seen on there. As much as I'd love to install from ftp, but I have no internet which i use at my friends. Hope this helped, if not let me know. also sorry i wasen't more detailed in the begining.

Read the README file. There is some info there...you might be able to install from HD once you have booted from the floppies or from DOS.

I'm a bit curious though - is there any special reason you chose TurboLinux? They are known mostly for offering commercial support, and after a bit of Googling it seems it's not the most used distro (at least in the online community).

hmm, yah i read that and i'm not too sure on going about booting off the hd. I'm always used to using bootable iso's and this is requires someone who knows what there doing. wish there was an app that makes bootable images. also i wanted to try a different linux out. i still haven't found one to stick with yet.
