Trying to set up squid as mail proxy getting Yum Error Message

Every time I try to install squid through yum. #yum install squid

I keep getting this error thread.error: can't start new thread

Now I have seen several post on this error but and tried several solutions but I still can not get yum to work.

I am using Cent 0S but nothing seems to work.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

You might find that editing the file /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/fastestmirror.conf and making enable=0 will fix the problem.

Also, here is a basic squid install guide for CentOS :
