Are you running KDE? If so, then you should have qt libraries installed. They are named qtlib3 in Mandrake. Check with

rpm -qa libqt3*

If they are not installed, install them via urpmi

urpmi libqt3
urpmi libqt3-common
urpmi libqt3-devel

I don't know which (if any) of these packages includes qmake, but at least you'll be sure about qt on your system

dude, your install cd's have all that. No need to go anywhere for it.
If your running mandrake use the install software function in the menu under "configuration". Then the search feature for QT and it should pull up the files you need.

Thanks Klios & Muddy, ok now it is clear to me that I do have QT installed, my problem was that after I updated and installed everything my computer let me, yet I still can't compile, I figured I needed the QT program rather than qtlib etc. Anyway I screwed up my O.S. doint this stuff, so give me a couple days to backup everything, reinstall Mandrake, and retry...
I just can't figure out where I am going wrong...
