Question Trouble with game on wine

Hi all... I recently wine installed Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow, which I believe my hardware meets the requirements of. The install went cleanly (it just said my sound card wasn't supported... but it did said success). The trouble is that when I try to run the game, I get these errors:
Code:
err:module:import_dll Library Core.dll (which is needed by L"D:\\splintercell2.exe") not found
err:module:import_dll Library Window.dll (which is needed by L"D:\\splintercell2.exe") not found
err:module:import_dll Library Engine.dll (which is needed by L"D:\\splintercell2.exe") not found
err:module:import_dll Library MSVCR71.dll (which is needed by L"D:\\splintercell2.exe") not found
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"D:\\splintercell2.exe" failed, status c0000135
I did a google search of these terms but didn't find any helpful results (which filled no more than a page).
If anyone could help me fix these errors, I would greatly appreciate it. If I can just get the game to load that'd be great; any performance problems, I'll worry about later.

Cheers

Wine has a known problem with this game. However, I'm noticing that the people that have posted on Wine's site haven't had the DLL problem. You might want to ask a question on Wine's page (below).

A quick summary: Splinter Cell requires 32-bit color to play; X allegedly only supports up to 24-bit color. There is a patch you can apply to the Wine source to get around this problem, meaning you'd have to recompile Wine from source, but I don't know what version the patch is for. The patch was submitted on Apr. 30th of this year.

My suggestion is to try applying the patch and compiling from source. Wine has A LOT of requirements (http://wiki.winehq.org/Recommended_Packages). I suggest you get ALL of the packages for your distro before compiling from source, and make sure you remove the Wine package before performing the install. You'll have to patch the source code before compiling it; I'm sorry that I can't be of more help with that. Here are the links to the relevant pages on Wine. The patch is located on the bug report page as an attachment.
