tomcat servlet engine problem using /deploying war files. Apps will not start

Im trying to set up a website. Im pretty new at it doing well so far. I have lighttpd and tomcat working and a redirect to tomcat for when I need it. I am trying to put up a Java WIKI on there called jamwiki. I follow the installation instructions which say I need to deploy it exploded. I used the manager application and JAMWIKI will not start. I dont know why. I even tried another wiki..will not start. Does it have to do with something called the spring framework..if so how do I install it / get jamwiki working. Any help would be totally awesome
Thanks
