to see available vnc clients

hello, I love vnc for connecting to co-workers computers to fix their issues.
however, I have to ofcourse know their IP address so that I can connect, which chnages now and then due to the network, and rebooting bla bla

so, is there a port sniffing program, or something of that order that can look onto the network and tell me what IP's are being used? (also, on the vnc server, you can but in a name, such as 'janies computer' ideally the viewer/port sniffer would show the IP and the 'name' that you have given to this computer so as to easilly identify it)

perhaps try a network scanner. just google for it and quite a few should show up. just put in the ip range for your network and click go. try and find one with dns support. should be a option like "resolve dns" or domain name's. hope that helped sorry if it feels like im patronising you or somthing. it would help if you could filter them by port and just make the pc's without a vnc (hence not having the port open) not show up.

no, I do not feel like you are patronizing. I am always learning.

however, I did search on that, the trouble is, I am trying to find one with a gui and not terminal based, and one that can search for the vnc server on the computers to pick up the descriptive name that is entered in it.

that is more complex of a search and so far has been fruitless for me. do you have some names you can drop if your search was more effective than mine?
