From David R. Butenhof's excellent book Programming with POSIX Threads:
Quote:
It is always best to avoid using signals in conjunction with threads. At the same time, it is often not possible or practical to keep them separate. When signals and threads meet, beware.
He then continues for 25 pages to explain the complications.

I have recommended here that you avoid threads if you can. If you really need to use threads, get that book. I can't recommend it highly enough.

It is far superior to the O'Reilly book on the same topic, judging by my copy.

Hope this helps.
