Driver module for linux v2.4.??

I have developed a test module which has only module init and module exit. The target system is PowerPC with kernel version 2.4.18. The module is in C and compiled with the GNU gcc cross compiler. When installing the module with insmod, it gives the error "testmodule was compiled for Kernel version 2.4.2_hhl20 while this Kernel is version 2.4.18_mvl30". How can the cross compiler be set to compile for Kernel version 2.4.18_mvl30?
