Question System Backup

I need to backup my entire system and was wondering what is the best way to accomplish this. Basically I will be wiping out my entire hard drive so that I can partition it properly have different partitions for different OS'es. There's nothing wrong with my Arch install so I was thinking on backing up every file and then when I install Arch again I can then do a mass restore and go back to my same configuration. Please advice.

According to your system specs you have two hard drives. Why not rsync one to the other, partition the first, and rsync back to the partition you want use for Arch?

The first drive contains XP and it's almost full...

Oh yeah! Well, if I'd just kept reading your specs. Anyway, that's how I backup my system and restore it. I saw a thread here recently (past week or so) with the exact same discussion. I'm sure you could find it if you searched. Besides the rsync idea, you could tar everything to CD or DVD. Then repartition and untar everything back.

You could blow Windows off the second drive too.
