My original goal was to synchronize my Nokia E75 with Mozilla Lightning. Unfortunately during my way to this goal so many problems occured that I am actually stuck although I read a bunch of tutorial until now. Here is the short(!) story:
I was able to install, start and configure a Funambol server on my Ubuntu 10.10 host. When I open
http://localhost:8080/funambol/ in my browser it opens the Funambol web interface. Furthermore I can connect via the admin tool and setup the server. From that I assume the server is running. Afterwards I found that the official Funambol Lighting Plugin is not on duty any more but I discovered another version at maurus.net/resources/funambol/ . I was able to install the plugins and I could configure it by the settings I made for the Funambol server.
Unfortunately synchronization fails with an SSL error (although I use http and not https). I found out that the http transport might be broken since Thunderbird 5.
My mobile phone shows a connection error.
This is when I deciced to try a synchronization with evolution before running into further problems by trying to setup the certificates correctly. Thus I installed syncevolution and sync-ui. I could enter my Funambol server data but somehow the option to synchronize the calender is missing. Anyway I tried to synchronize with the funambol server but the connection via sync-ui fails with the following error message:
There was a problem with last sync:
We were unable to connect to the server. The problem could be temporary or there could be something wrong with the settings.
Can anybody help me to synchronize anything with the Funambol server. I am at a point where I don't mind what it is any more.
