Sylpheed, suppress new mail highlights on trash/junk

Hi, is there any way to suppress unread message highlights on the trash and junk folders? I'm open to folder level, or message level options for marking them as read, or anything else to avoid highlighting them as new/unread if in those folders.

I have sylpheed 3.7 which I believe is the newest currently.

Assuming sylpheed does not have that specific option.
Maybe you can use a filter with a logic like "if message in spam folder, mark it read".
There's also a question of who is putting the messages there - sylpheed, or your mail provider? If the latter, maybe you can tell your mail provider to mark these as read right away.
