SuSE 8.2 -CDWriter in K3b Not correctly recognized!!!-Not working!!!

Hello fellow Linux Techs/trollers.

I just finished up a Clean install of Suse 8.2 (from BOXED set I bought back in the Days-from Best BUY.)

everything seems to have gone well. I set the DMA on my ide drives ok.

Under Yast ,it did have K3B RECOGNIZE MY cd-r iomega ZIPCD1024INT-A ,

it says it is recognized as acdwriter ,but when I go to k3b disk copy function,the whole cd copying process stops ,saying my cd-rom is not cdrDAO compatible. WHAT is going on???? Is this CDwriter too old for this Suse 8.2???

Umm....the current Suse version is 11.3. I'll bet your CD is too new for your 8.2 version, that's why it isn't recognized. Why not download the current version, you'll find it's very nice to use, and your CD will work.
