Suse 10.1 + Mythfrontend = no sound

This is a very annoying thing since mythfrontend used to work on my Suse box.

Anyway, I've been having problems with the KDE sound system (various KDE things weren't playing sounds) so I ran alsaconf and then re-ran the soundcard detection in YaST. Lo and behold, the sound system is behaving itself again. But now when I go into mythfrontend, I get no audio playback. I've tried tweaking with the settings in mythtv but I still can't even get volume control during playback.

So, I did something there, but I have no clue as of how to fix it.

P.S.
I'm running SuSE 10.1 with mythtv 0.19 installed from rpms from packman. My backend is Knoppmyth.
