I am using slackware-current with python 2.4 and the latest version of superkaramba.

I am trying to load a theme called kroller-v0.95 and the python side of the theme fails to load, making it unusable.

It outputs this python error, failing to load global python modules.

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "kroller.py", line 28, in ?
import string, re, os
ImportError: No module named string

As of now, $PYTHONHOME is not set however i have tried setting it to
/usr/bin/python

As well as

/usr/bin/python2.4

and even

/root/.superkaramba/themes/kroller-v0.95/

Non-python themes load fine

any ideas?

Is there a generic python script I can run to test if those work at all?

Python 2.4 support was added into CVS over the holidays. It was missing a simple check in the acinclude.m4 script. You can either download CVS from sourceforge.net and run make -f Makefile.cvs, or you can wait for the next release.
