Subversion (latest) - questions for after the install

I have gotten Subversion installed with the latest release On CentOS 5. I am able to run commands and such from the command line, and I have setup the repository directory.

Now, I need to get things working in apache I believe right? I have apache 2.2.4, and I tried to enable the svn.so's but when they load I get an error. Not really looking for the answer on that yet, just making sure that I MUST use apache?

Is there any good doc's out there outlining how to get it setup from this point on? I found a lot out there for installing it. But not so much for a general setup.

Using CVS, it has it's own port open, is this going to be the case with svn?

Thanks for any help,

Your Choice

Actually, there are two ways you can go. If you want to use Apache, then yes you must use 2.x as the 1.x version of Apache doesn't have the ability (to my knowledge) to integrate SVN. However, SVN has its own server available instead of Apache(which is the way I chose to run it since I use Apache 1.x). I don't recall offhand what I did to setup the integrated server. If need be I can go back in my notes to look it up.

Awesome, that's kind of the answer I was looking for. I didn't want to go through apache, i wanted to run my own server.

With knowing that, back to google for a more specific search.

Thanks,
