How to resolve the issue like

What distribution and version are you running?

probably you entered incorrect password. su is waiting for the password of root, not the user. probably you wanted to use sudo.
But there can be a lot of other things too.

It is fine that I use sudo instead.

Any idea that I don't find out "/dsc/bin" path within Ubuntu?

Ubuntu does not enable root. You can use sudo -i which is basically the same as using su.

/dsc is not a standard directory name so without more information it isn't possible possible to say.

Yes, I don't get that in Red hat too.

I want to have "dsc management tool" for this, due to the following.

that is not /dsc but $HOME/dsc, but anyway it depends on you, you can extract it to anywhere you want.

download the software, extract to the required directory. That's all. Where did you stuck?
