I want to make a simple php script that organize playing of mp3 files. This is to be done on a server with debian.
I do not need much features. Playing mp3 files, and some way of queueing files for playing in sequence, is more or less all i need. Adding files to the playlist while playing, is also preferd. Then i need to stream the files out for playing from other computers. I tried some applications like poc-streamer. It works fine, and it can play multiple files, but i didn't find any way to be able to add files to the playlist while it's running.
Any other app i should try? As simple as possible is prefered. Is it any simple streaming software that can for instance play what comes on std in, or what is piped from other software? So i could pipe the std output of mpg123 to that streaming software, or something like that?
Any suggestions for what packages i could use to achieve this?
Well, i'm not starting a internet radio. Just going to use this for my own use. That's also why i'm trying to find a simple tool that does just what i need, and isn't made for running a radio with thousand of listeners. If there is such a thing :-)
I couldn't imagine life without shoutcast. And if you read deeper into it its not just aimed at internet radio it aimed towards streaming for personal use also.
