streaming media on mandrake 9.2

Hi , I installed mandrake 9.2 yesterday and everything was great. my only problem so far is getting either mozilla or konqueror to play online media like movie previews etc either in windows media, quicktime or realmedia.

I installed mplayer through the mandrake cds, also have mozplugger installed.

i maybe missing some codecs for mplayer, but if i donwloaded the codec packs , where do i install it and how?

i may have missed something here, so if anyone knows a successful way of enabling media content to be played in a browser and has some steps to follow (for mandrake 9.2) please let me know.

thanks.

I do not think you can add the codec after it is compiled. I think you will need to get all of the codecs and recompile from source.

You have to compile each seperately anyhow so I would not see why not unless, it has to be compiled in order so you may be right Shanenin - I have never looked into it so if you have had this issue then you prolly know more about it. Also I would think it depends on if you are using the rpms or are compiling.
