Streaming internet radio stops after 7 minutes

Hi,
Listening to one of my favourite internet radio stations, www.kevfm.com. First of all, the only way I can do this is with mplayer, either command line or gui using one of it's frontends,(i.e. kplayer, kmplayer etc) results in the stream just stopping without any reason that I can figure out after somewhere between 5 and 7minutes. This is about usual give or take a few seconds. There are no errors thrown up, it simply stops. Anyone any idea how to get around this.

Trouble is that no matter what I try, I just can't get XMMS to stream .asf files. The plugin won't compile, and the error list is that long, it sets my head spinning. So I am back to square one. Mplayer handles .asf files when they are buried within java scripts, making the whole operation of listening to them pretty much a point and click affair, (just like windo$e), and if I could only get Linux to do the same, I would be very happy with it. It really is one of the last things that is stopping me from ditching that other OS completely. Now I kinow it is possible, with some careful digging, to extract the true URL of the .asf files I like to hear, but the question then becomes, why should I? Surely if it's good enough for Windo$e, it really should be better than that for Linux.
So, anyone else any more ideas?

Some more information, it would seem that the length of time mplayer continues to playback streaming media is determined by the cache size. So the larger the cache, the longer the playback time. But, when the cache has run out, that is when playback stops. So it would appear that MPlayer stops sending requests for streaming when the cache is full. Anyone any idea how to get around this, or should I report it as a bug to the mplayer site
