Strange RedHat behavior

Good morning

Minor problem with RH 9. I am using KDE and click 'Logout". I get to the next screen and sometimes it doesn't display until I click somewhere, get the "Shutdown" screen, and click no. Anyway, I click "Shutdown" and it just logs back in ( I have autologin set up ). I have to shut down by clicking "Reboot" and then shutting down the computer when it is in the rebooting process. Anyone ever see this? Thanks.

my pc don't have that problems but my pc cannot power down automatically. A friend do have the same problem but at least his pc do can auto-shut-down.

If you always have the command line available, just type "poweroff" could save time
