Starting snort: ERROR: User "snort" unknown

when i type :
#/etc/init.d/snortd start
---> Starting snort: ERROR: User "snort" unknown
Fatal Error, Quitting..

( log to /var/log/snort/ with configfile /etc/snort/snort.conf )

Help me (I Install snort on RH 9)

The snort user account was not added. Did you use an RPM (which one) to install Snort or from source?

(I Install snort on RH 9)

Hey i think you have not added snort user or you are using an rpm,,so create required users and groups first, as given in snort`s how too`s..

oh ! yes i'm have not added snort user and install using on RPM
