Question sshd not starting up on boot after upgrade

Hello, I was using OpenSSH 3.7 p1 (comes with slackware 9.1), and I wanted to upgrade.I downloaded openssh-3.8p1.tgz and used
Code:
upgradepkg openssh-3.8p1.tgz
to do it.Then the old openssh package was removed , but somehow the installation failed with an error that the new package did not end with .tgz ! Anyway, I compiled manually the openssh-3.8p1.tgz, but now the daemon does not start on boot ! I checked the /etc/rc.d and the rc.sshd is missing, how can I restore the daemon to start on boot again ? tnx...
