I have a Toshiba Satelllite a15s157 laptop with xp pro/rh9. before installing Mplayer the sound worked fine all the time. After mplayer was installed, the sound works when the computer first boots up for things like gaim but then after about 2 minutes it doesnt work. If i put a music cd it will play that still but at a very low volume level. Any sounds thru the system do not work at all though such as playing test sound thru rh9's properties. Any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this and why would something like this happen?
