Sound input wierdness (solved - silly mistake - mods pls delete)

I installed Skype and tried chatting via mic with my gf.
I could hear her perfectly. But she couldn't hear me. Now my soundcard is well installed.
I then loaded kmix - opened the full mixer, on Output:
PCM is at full, CD is closed, and Mic is at full with mute.
On Input, I got just one bar called Capture with a small button at the bottem, I cannot toggle it on or off, but if I keep it pressed with the mouse, my gf can hear me.
On the last tab, Switches, I got input sources - set to Mic

Any help?

nothing solved - ignore this thread, hopefully a mod will delete.

Maybe you can post what was wrong. Other people can learn from your silly mistake.

I used qamix, and opened up the mic's sound, coz apparantly, through kmix, i was using the sound settings for the winmodem (I suspect), since I also suspect that they are meshed devices on this laptop.
