Hi,
I'm going to have a brand new computer next month and I wanted to keep my older one to use as a firewall and as file and printing server for the new one since i'll have windows and some UNIX variants.
I have decided to go for OpenBsd for the firewall(PF=).
As for the sharing of resources i believe samba should do the job, but because i have never used it, i would like to check this with people who use it regularly.
Now, if it is indeed the best tool for the job i have another few related questions. My new PC will have something like a 300GB SAT drive as opposed to the 40GB of the old one, so the partition i want to share between the operating systems will be on the 300 drive. The problem is, i wanted to have a UNIX file system on that partition. So, can i use samba as an intermediary from the windows client(new PC) to use the partition on the same PC.
Just a final question:considering the available space on the 2 PC's on which would you have the backups made(images of all systems).
Thanks.
