some programs refuse to start from GUI


hello all

i have some programs like mercury and skype that refuse to start from GUI by double click !

instead of that i run it from the shell by typing the name #skype and if i close the shell the program also closed !!!!

If you run
Code:
skype &
then you can close the console after skype launches.

thanks for your help but when i ran skype & and if i close the console also the program closed ! ! !

Oops, that returns control to the console, but you're right, it still closes when the console does.
Try the run command option by pressing Alt+F2 which will do what you want, I think!
