Solaar tells me it finds no supported devices, recommends I check for them with lsusb. lsusb returns: I have keyboards k270 and k360 and mouse m185, all of which Solaar supports.

Most probably they are (those devices) already in use, connected.
But if you have a pairing problem it cannot be solved with solaar too. First you need to be sure the receiver and the mouse/keyboard can communicate with each other.

I'd suggest contacting Logitech and asking them why you need 2 when you should need 1 for using 2 devices unless each device and receiver pair is uniquely set up with a certain frequency. but if they are truly unifying receivers then there shouldn't be such a frequency or pairing. you should be able to use any receiver with any device or any amount of devices, w/n reason. let them know that you're using Linux and what kernel you're using.

Logitech only supports pairing of additional devices via their Windows or MacOS software so suggesting to contact them would be useless. If a unifying receiver is included with the keyboard or mouse then it is already paired but additional devices can be paired up to a total of 6 per Logitech's documentation.

As long as that device has a gold start then you should be able to pair it with any unifying receiver. Yes solaar should report already paired devices. I need to get another battery for my wireless mouse before I can test it myself... I don't think that solaar would work with multiple receivers so I assume that you would have to unplug one.

i only have a mouse with a unifying receiver. i can't speak of using more than 1 device and receiver. i was only suggesting what seemed to me was logical.

I currently have both a KB and mouse on one receiver that were separate purchases a year or two apart, not in a set. No problem unifying them onto one receiver with solaar and have worked for me on a dozen different distros.

A quick google and I see M185 mouse came in both a unifying and non-unifying version. I don't see where in your posts you mention that your mouse has the orange unifying symbol. Even if you are using a unifying receiver, the device has to be one that can be unified. Pardon me if it has been posted and I didn't notice it. Perhaps it is possible that logitech stuck you with a receiver that can unify newer devices but a mouse that can't?

I bought the M185 and K360 as a pair with a single transceiver. I already had a K270. I hoped to unify all 3 with 1 transceiver. The K270 is the odd device out.

Only the transceivers have the symbol; none of the devices do. Do yours?
