Software Trouble in Fedora 8

Hi,

I recently used you to update a lot of packages on my Fedora 7. All went well, thanks.

So it was gimp's turn.

yum update gimp

went the command and all was smooth. A reboot later and all was ok until I realized nautilus wasnt working thus I had to leave gnome and use kde. (Note that I have nothing against kde). So I tried running nautilus on the command line and what I get shocks me as I have no idea what on earth is going on:

[root@hedgehog arthur]# nautilus
nautilus: symbol lookup error: nautilus: undefined symbol: g_once_init_enter_impl
[root@hedgehog arthur]#

Gimp also fails running with the same error. And so does system-config-network:

[root@hedgehog arthur]# system-config-network
Component: system-config-network
Version: 1.4.7
Summary: TB20d3cafa __init__.py:13:<module>:ImportError: /usr/lib/libgnomevfs-2.so.0: undefined symbol: g_once_init_enter_impl

ImportError: /usr/lib/libgnomevfs-2.so.0: undefined symbol: g_once_init_enter_impl

Local variables in innermost frame:

// I have truncated this

What do I do? A lot of googling around hasnt helped me much

Check if theres GTK.* and Glib.* updates you've missed?

With "yum update gimp" you did a selective update of one package. While dependencies should be in the scope of that using "yum check-update" should show if there's more updates. Make sure you have all the basic F8 repos enabled. And please fill in your profile details (OS and such) because your thread title states "Fedora 8" while the OP states "Fedora 7".
